Welcome to S.H.A.R.P.'S Miniature Dachshunds. 

We are located in Alvarado, Texas, which is southwest of the Dallas metroplex, 35 miles south of the Fort Worth Metroplex,  and 60 miles North of Waco, Texas.  We are dedicated to the health & happiness of all of our girls and boys.  We have had Miniature Dachshunds ("Dach"- "shund" is German for Badger Hound), they are also refered to as (Dash Hounds) for 13 years and have been raising beautiful, sweet, loving, healthy babies for 7 years. 

Dachshunds originated in Germany & are agile hunters. They were originally used for badger hunting.  They were sent into the burrows to flush the Badgers out for the hunters to kill.  Through the years they have been downsized & the miniature size is used for hunting animals such as rabbits, squarriles, & mice. 

We strive to produce healthy miniature dachshunds puppies with sound bone structure, and great personalities. Miniatures do come from standards and even if you have a small sire and dam, you can still have a pup thats ends up weighing over the 11pound AKC limit for the miniature size class.  

Our Doxie babies are kept in the house with us most of the time.  During the day when it is nice outside and we are home they are out in the yard to run free.  Our Dachsunds visit our vet on a regular basis to maintain their health and are kept current on all vacinations and annual exams.  We do not sell our AKC Registered Dachshund puppies to pet store or puppy brokers.  We are avid protesters of puppy mills.
